In this handcrafted Maru Mahotsav inspired tapestry, the golden pointed structures are depicting sand dunes of Thar desert made with golden crinkle gota above which is the full moon embroidered with silver gota creating a fairytale ambiance with rough textured rose gold background depicting the sky of the desert who has witnessed all the hardships desert has gone through until the bloom of this festival.
The annual event of Maru Mahotsav ‘The desert festival’ takes place in hindu month of Magh, three days prior to the full moon in Jaisalmer amidst Thar desert. It is the most awaited famous cultural and colorful event of Rajasthan that makes the silent desert come to life.
